Michael W. Meltzer, P.C. has a global immigration practice and provides comprehensive immigration counseling and assistance to individuals, families, and businesses in Oregon, the rest of the Pacific Northwest and the United States, and all over the world in all areas of immigration law including:

Employment-Based Immigration: permanent resident status ("green cards") through PERM labor certification, outstanding accomplishments in the arts, sciences and athletics, services as a physician, nurse, or physical therapist, employment creation investments, and transfer to the US from abroad as an executive or manager.

Employer Sanctions: advice to employers regarding I-9 compliance and employer sanctions including counseling to prepare for government audits and avoid employer sanctions, representation during government audits, and defense of alleged violations.

Family-Based Immigration: permanent resident status as a fiancée, spouse, child, parent or brother or sister of a US citizen or legal resident through adjustment of status (including under Section 245(i) of the Life Act) or visa processing at an Embassy abroad; removal of 2-year condition on permanent residence based on joint petition or waiver (Form I-751), marriage fraud, and overcoming grounds of inadmissibility based on past criminal and immigration law violations.

Temporary Work Authority: permission to work in the United States on a temporary basis as a member of a specialty occupation (H-1B), seasonal worker (H-2B), a member of the arts or sciences with extraordinary accomplishments (O), intracompany managerial, executive, or specialized knowledge transferee (L), treaty trader (E-1) and treaty investor (E-2), athlete or performer (P visa), Trade NAFTA (TN) Canadian or Mexican professional or Australian professional (E-3).

US Citizenship: through naturalization or derivative citizenship; Child Citizenship Act.

Visa Processing: obtaining immigrant and nonimmigrant visas at US Embassies all over the world.

All Other Immigration Matters: including hardship and other waivers, removal defense and appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), asylum and TPS, and advice regarding the immigration implications of violations of criminal law.
